The main factors are working height and outreach (bigger machines cost more per day), how long you need it (longer hires bring the day rate down), where the site is, and whether you need extras such as traffic management or permits. A site survey lets us price the smallest machine that will safely do the job, so you're not paying for reach you don't need.

Yes. Every truck mounted platform is supplied with a trained, IPAF-qualified operator, so there is no separate operator charge to arrange.

They overlap. MEWP (mobile elevating work platform) is the industry term for any powered access platform. A cherry picker is the everyday name for a boom-type MEWP with a basket. A truck mounted (or lorry mounted) platform is a cherry picker built onto a road-going truck, so it drives itself to site and can move between jobs the same day.

Every hire is delivered to site with a qualified, IPAF-trained operator as part of the service. Delivery availability depends on the machine and depot, so check with our team when you enquire.

Outreach, or lateral reach, is how far the platform can extend sideways from the vehicle, not just straight up. It's what lets a truck mount work up and over an obstacle, such as a wall, a roof edge or water, where a machine with great height but poor outreach can't actually reach the job. Use the outreach filter alongside height when you're working over or around something.
